The New England Patriots tied their longest winning run since the Tom Brady era as they beat AFC East opponents the Jets 27-14 in professional football

Rookie Henderson led the way with three TDs as the Patriots claimed an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since iconic QB Tom Brady's closing campaign with the franchise in 2019

Signal-caller Maye passed for 281 passing yards and a touchdown, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

The triumph increases the New England's lead at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets bottom after falling to two wins and eight losses

The opposing team had taken the lead at their home field with QB Fields scoring a short rushing score to cap the Jets' opening drive

But the home team fought back in the second quarter as the rookie ran in two seven-yard TDs before the ball carrier caught a pass from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone midway through the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He desires to be outstanding."

Fields threw to John Metchie toward the end of the third period to close the gap for the Jets but Andy Borregales kicked a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the Patriots wrapped up the win
